CoApp
Lead UX/UI Designer & Product Owner
Suite of Enterprise B2B SaaS Products

CoApp is a suite of enterprise B2B SaaS products used by optical chains to reduce costly workflow errors and retrain staff behavior.
As Lead UX/UI Designer and Product Owner, I led end-to-end product strategy to ship high-impact features across the core platform, browser-based Assistant, and AI-integrated partner tools.
Management Portal Redesign
Before the redesign, CoApp’s Management Portal was powerful but unusable outside of internal beta. Customers couldn’t navigate, configure rules, or diagnose issues without support. Rules often caused workflow errors across offices.
Through interviews with ops leads and IT admins, I simplified the architecture, rebuilt the navigation, and redesigned key interactions for clarity and to prevent errors. After the redesign, teams were completing tasks up to 4x faster and excited about what they could accomplish.
Solving for Abandoned Bulk Actions
Optical chains often need to assign hundreds of rules to dozens of user groups, but the old UX failed to present this in a way that made sense when some rules were already assigned and others weren’t.
We introduced a visual system for mixed states using multi-select chips and checkboxes. Striped chips and indeterminate boxes showed partial rule assignments, with tooltips like “Applied to 83 of 122 selected rules” for clarity. This shipped successfully and gave admins the confidence to bulk-edit rule assignments at scale.
Redesigning the Rule Builder for Adoption and Behavior Change
CoApp’s rule builder powers real-time prompts and popups that guide staff inside their existing optical software. Designed to support behavior change, these prompts reduce mistakes and reinforce the right actions through in-context learning.
I introduced a set of prebuilt rules to help ops leads see early success, then progressively onboarded them to build more complex, custom logic as their confidence grew.
Making the Browser Extension a Trusted On-the-Floor Assistant
I led the design system behind CoApp’s in-app prompts and popups, making them easy to follow, and clearly branded so staff could tell them apart from their existing optical software.
The system included popovers, warnings, confirmations, and multi-step flows like manager approvals. I created structure around when and how these show up, making it easier for ops leads to set up clear, reliable interventions.

Integrating Topology AI
I led the UX strategy for plugin support, including a 3D face scanning app for custom-fit eyewear.
Sales associates can search by UPC or scan the patient’s face using Topology. If measurements are available, CoApp fills them into their optical software automatically. As the CoApp Assistant pulls in measurements from Topology, a quick animation shows the data being filled in automatically.
SSO & SCIM Onboarding for IT Admins
Enterprise customers needed a secure, self-serve way to connect CoApp to their identity systems. I led the UX for an end-to-end onboarding wizard that guides IT admins through SSO (SAML) and SCIM setup with clear steps and real-time status feedback.
Error prevention and contextual help ensure they can’t proceed until each step is correctly configured. This cut setup time from days to under an hour.
Key Outcomes
Enterprise-ready portal: Transformed the Management Portal from internal beta to enterprise rollout, enabling self-service across thousands of screens and cutting task time by 4×.
Complex features shipped: Delivered mixed-state bulk actions and a progressive rule builder with LLM-powered suggestions.
In-context guidance: Launched the Browser Assistant and plugin integrations like Topology to streamline on-the-floor workflows.
Modular design system: Standardized navigation, prompts, analytics dashboards, and extensions, accelerating delivery and aligning engineering and product teams.
I owned the roadmap, led research and prototyping, and shipped solutions in close partnership with engineering.
